President's Message - November 2010 PDF Print E-mail
Dear Members of CBI,

As we move forward in the year, I hope each of you enjoyed the High Holiday Services, and in particular, Rabbi Roseman’s, and Yonina Creditor’s services and sermons.

Recently we have had one Bat Mitzvah and three Bar Mitzvahs. Congratulations to Ryan Butler, Olivia Noble, Hudson Silverman and Kyle Kane.  All were well prepared and in their own ways, they made themselves, their families, and our congregation very proud.

Our 92nd Street Y programs have been most interesting and well attended.  Please plan to attend our next presentation with Steve Martin at 7:00 pm on Monday, November 29th.

For those of you who have not yet attended Rabbi’s Torah study group at 11:00 am on Saturdays, it behooves you to attend.  You will find the topics educational and rewarding.

Our annual Food Fest is scheduled for November 13 & 14. We have received many generous donations for both the raffle and silent auction. Our volunteers are actively working in the kitchen, preparing our famous food for this great event. I urge everyone to come and enjoy this event which our Sisterhood makes possible.  Without the many hours of volunteer work, Food Fest would not occur.

Please plan to attend the 75th Annual Thanksgiving Joint Service with the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church. Congregation Beth Israel will host this ecumenical service on Wednesday, November 24 at 7:30 pm. You will enjoy the fellowship. I urge everyone to come and participate.

Congregation Beth Israel is truly great because of its dedicated members. We take great pride in having Rabbi Roseman and Phyllis, Susan Martin, our religious school director, Debbie Bustillo, our office administrator and staff Natalie Honigbaum, Rose Garza, and Mike Trimyer. All of the above are dedicated and contribute to the success of Congregation Beth Israel.

                Shalom,
                Maury Wolfson
                President
