Corpus Christi Religious School

Classes resumed on January 4th, after a long winter break and it’s wonderful to see so many smiling faces each Sunday.  Classes continue to learn from the ISJL curriculum and have the opportunity to practice their Hebrew on the Behrman House Online Learning Center.

It’s not too early to begin thinking about summer camp! Greene Family camp will be here on February 8th for a short presentation.  All are welcome to join us at 11:00. We also have plenty of information for Camp Young Judea and Greene Family Camp in the lobby. Feel free to pick up a brochure to learn more!

There are also Israel summer travel opportunities for teens.  NFTY in Israel is one particular adventure to look into if you are interested or visit www.nftyisrael.org for more information.

This spring, Camp Young Judaea-Texas is hosting a variety of Jewish retreats.  Their upcoming events include Passover Camp (for the whole family), Spring Camp (for 1st-6th graders) and Women’s ReJEWvenation Weekend (for women 21 and up).  Their year round events provide a great way to build community with Jews from all over Texas and they would love for our community to take part. Log ontowww.cyjtexas.org/retreats, for more information.

Family Shabbat Dinner

Shalom Y'All,

Can you believe it's already February?  This new year is just flying by!  For those of you that have been participating in our Family Shabbat Dinners, I thank you for attending and sharing the sabbath together.  Please spread the word to any newcomers or congregants you think would enjoy coming to a Friday dinner that have otherwise not done so yet.  What better way to start out the weekend than to enjoy a home-cooked meal, meet new friends, and bring in Shabbat together!

My son, Eli, will be called to the Torah as a Bar Mitzvah this month, so there will be NO FAMILY DINNER.  Our next Family Shabbat Dinner will be on Friday, March 6th at 6pm with dinner to follow.  We will have a Purim theme!  Feel free to bring a dessert to share.  If anyone would like to help me in the kitchen, please give me a call!

Looking forward to breaking bread together,

Leslie Green
Family Shabbat Dinner Coordinator
