Chinese Food and a Movie, and Chanukah!

What Do Jews Do on Xmas?
Chinese food and a movie, of course!

Please join us at Congregation Beth Israel for Chinese food at 6 p.m. and a movie at 7 p.m. on Xmas day, Monday, December 25.

This year's movie will be LIfe of Pi, a wonderful story that celebrates our relationship with God and the beauty of nature.

●    Please RSVP with Debbie Bustillo by December 20 at the latest so that we'll know how much food to order.

●    Please feel free to bring a dessert.

See you on Xmas!

Social Action

CBI will once again be serving Christmas lunch for the homeless residents at Metro Ministry on Christmas Day. Volunteers are needed from 11:30-2:00 for set-up, serving and clean-up. For any bakers out there, we will be providing home-made or bakery cookies.

There will be a sign-up sheet in the CBI lobby for volunteers and bakers. This mitzvah will enable residents to eat at their own location instead of having to go somewhere else for a meal, while allowing staff to be with their families.

Preliminary plans have also begun for another Salvation Army Canteen Truck run probably in January. This will require making a hot meal at CBI and then serving it to the homeless at the various street locations where they stay in Corpus Christi. More details will be provided in the near future.
